How to run an internal audit in SWC CRM
To run an internal audit in SWC CRM, open the project’s Audit Engine, work through the clause-by-clause checklist, capture evidence for each clause, accept or reject it, log any nonconformities, and export the audit report.
What is the Audit Engine?
The Audit Engine is SWC CRM’s internal-audit workspace. It runs a clause-by-clause audit for any ISO standard — capturing evidence, tracking nonconformities, and producing a report — so you no longer need a separate gap-analysis stage.
How to run an internal audit
- Open the project and go to the Audit Engine.
- Select or build the clause-by-clause checklist for the standard.
- For each clause, attach the client’s evidence and add notes.
- Accept, reject, or request a revision — the linked document’s status updates automatically.
- Log nonconformities and track corrective actions to closure.
- Export the audit report in one click.
Audit Engine vs standalone gap analysis
| Standalone gap analysis | SWC Audit Engine | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | One-off spreadsheet | Live, reusable checklist |
| Evidence | Attached separately | Captured per clause |
| Gaps | Static list | Open items in the audit |
| Outcome | Handoff document | Report + tracked NCs to closure |
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a separate gap analysis?
No. The Audit Engine captures evidence and open items as you audit, so the gap is the set of unresolved items in your live audit — there is no separate gap-analysis stage.
Does accepting evidence update the document status?
Yes. Accepting evidence sets the linked document to Approved, rejecting sets it to Rejected, and requesting changes sets it to Revision Required — reflected live in the client portal.
