Move a lead to a signed deal: stages, proposals and Deal Won

Clauseloop TeamISO certification software specialistsUpdated October 6, 20264 min read

Each lead moves through stages, from Fresh to WON. Create a proposal once a lead is Prospective, send it from Proposals, and when the client signs, mark the lead WON. Clauseloop then creates the client, a project for each standard sold, and the client’s portal access.

The sales stages

A lead is Fresh when it arrives, then Active Deals, Proposal Sent, Meeting Done, Prospective and Pipeline, until it is WON or dumped. Change it with the stage menu at the top of the lead’s page. Sales Pipeline shows every open deal as a Board or a List.

How to create and send a proposal

  1. Open Proposals and click Create Proposal.
  2. Choose the lead and the standard. A lead appears here when it is Prospective, Proposal Sent or Pipeline.
  3. Write the proposal and click Create. A Prospective lead moves to Proposal Sent.
  4. Open the proposal’s menu and click Send to Lead to email it. Only a draft can be sent.

How to mark a deal won

  1. On the lead’s page, set the stage to WON.
  2. In the dialog, confirm the standards the client bought and the value of each, then click Confirm Deal Won.
  3. The client record, its main contact and a project for each standard are created. If the lead has an email address, the contact is given portal access and sent a welcome email.
  4. The automatic follow-up emails stop.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI draft the proposal?

Only if your workspace has the AI add-on, which is off by default. With it, AI Generate fills the editor with a draft, and nothing is sent until someone clicks Send to Lead.

Can a deal be in another currency?

Yes. Each lead carries its deal value in the currency agreed, and the deal won keeps it.
